Agro Tourism Tambi Tea Plantation

Terletak 16 km arah utara kota Wonosobo atau kurang lebih 20 menit perjalanan dengan mobil, Agro Wisata Perkebunan Teh Tambi merupakan pilih an wisata yang menarik bagi pencinta alam pegunungan. Tempat wisata ini dilengkapi dengan kamar-kamar penginapan yang bagus dan komplit. Akan ada pemandu yang membawa berkeliling perkebunan teh, melihat karyawan pemetik teh sedang bekerja dan ke dalam pabrik teh melihat prosesing teh sejak dari daun sampai siap saji. Tempat-tempat wisata menarik lain nya yang berdekatan dengan PT Tambi antara lain Dataran Tinggi Dieng, Telaga Menjer, dan tempat perkemahan Jlumprit. Dulunya (1885) perkebunan ini merupakan milik Belanda dengan nama Bagelen Thee & Kina Maatschappij yang dikelola oleh NV John Peet berkantor di Jakarta. Setelah Indonesia merdeka, diambil alih oleh Pemerintah Republik Indonesia, yang selanjutnya setelah Konferensi Meja Bundar kembali diserahkan kepada pemilik semula. Tahun 1954 perkebunan dijual kepada NV Eks PPN (Pegawai Perkebunan Negara) Sindoro Sumbing. Tahun 1954 NV Eks PPN Sindoro Sumbing bekerja sama dengan Pemerintah Daerah Wonosobo mendirikan sebuah perusahaan baru bernama NV Tambi dan yang sekarang telah berganti nama menjadi PT Tambi. Luas areal PT Tambi meliputi 829,14 ha terdiri atas 3 unit perkebunan yaitu Unit Tambi, Unit Bedakah dan Unit Tanjungsari. Produk utama berupa teh hitam dengan tingkat produksi per tahun sebanyak 1.800 - 2.000 ton. Lokasi perkebunan terletak di lereng sebelah barat Gunung Sindoro dan Sumbing di bagian tengah Jawa Tengah. Ketinggian 800 - 2.000 meter di atas permukaan laut dengan tingkat curah hujan 2.500 - 3.500 mm per tahun.

Formerly, in the time of Dutch government in 1885 Tambi estate company was a Dutch company, named bagelan Thee & kina Maatschappij with the domicile at Netherland. In Indonesia the company was managed by NV John Peet, with the domicile at Jakarta. When the freedom revolution of Indonesia exploded the company was taken over by the government Republic of Indonesia. It's workers were appointed as government estate workers. After the round table conference in 1950 the company was returned back to the previous owner the Bagelen Thee & Kina maatschappij. Then in 1954 the company was sold by the owner to NV Ex PPN Sindoro Sumbing, a company built by The Ex Employees of Government's Estate mentioned above. In 1957 this NV Ex PPN sindoro Sumbing cooperating with the Local Government of Wonosobo build a new company named NV Tambi and now the name is PT  Perkebunan Tambi. PT Perkebunan Tambi is in the early step to enlarge the beautiful and naturally potention of tea plantation as a tourism resort with the name : Agro Wisata Perkebunan Teh Tambi. The company consists of 3 estates which is Tambi estate, Bedakah estate, and Tanjungsari estate with black tea as a main product. Total area 829.14 ha to yield between 1,800 - 2,000 ton per annum. The location precisely at the west slope of Sindoro & Sumbing mountains at the middle of Central Java. Situated 16 km northward of Wonosobbo with mild climate of 16 to 26 oC. Altitude 800 - 2,000 m above sea level, with rainfall 2,500 - 3,500 mm per annum. Staying for a few days in the resort you will see the black tea process ed, the surrounding area carpeted with tea bushes where tea pluckers are working gaily, and enjoying a nice drink with a local meal. The other famous escursion resort nearest are Menjer lake, Dieng plateau, and the forest camping ground Jlumprit.
